These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Sabotiq Quiz Engine plugin (free and Pro versions) and the website at sabotiq.pro (together, the "Service"), operated as a sole proprietorship ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. License & Usage

1.1 Free Plugin

The free version of Sabotiq Quiz Engine is licensed under the GNU General Public License v2 (GPLv2) or later. You may use, modify, and distribute it in accordance with the GPLv2.

1.2 Pro Plugin

The Pro version is a premium extension. Upon purchase, you receive a license to use the Pro plugin on the number of sites specified by your plan. The license is valid for the subscription period (annual or lifetime, as selected at purchase). The Pro plugin's PHP code is licensed under GPLv2, but this does not grant rights to our trademarks, branding, or access to our update and support infrastructure without a valid license.

2.1 Pricing

All prices are listed in USD and are subject to change. Price changes do not affect existing active subscriptions until renewal.

2.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Freemius, our authorized reseller and payment processor. By purchasing, you also agree to Freemius's Terms of Service.

2.3 Subscription Renewal

Annual subscriptions renew automatically at the current price. You will receive an email notification before renewal. You may cancel auto-renewal at any time through your Freemius account.

2.4 Refund Policy

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase. If you are not satisfied with the Pro plugin, contact us within 14 days for a full refund — no questions asked. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion. Refund requests can be submitted to admin@sabotiq.pro or through the Freemius dashboard.

3. Third-Party Services

The plugin integrates with optional third-party services. When you choose to use these integrations, you agree to their respective terms:

4. Your Responsibilities

4.1 As a Quiz Creator (Site Owner)

If you use the plugin to collect data from quiz participants (emails, answers, scores), you are the data controller for that information. You are responsible for:

When you take a quiz powered by Sabotiq, the site owner — not Sabotiq — is responsible for how your data is handled. Contact the site owner for data-related requests.

4.3 Payment Gates

If you use the Stripe or PayPal payment gate feature, you are responsible for compliance with applicable consumer protection, tax, and financial regulations in your jurisdiction.

5. Intellectual Property

The Sabotiq name, logo, and branding are our proprietary trademarks. The plugin source code is licensed under GPLv2. Quiz content you create using the plugin remains your intellectual property. AI-generated quiz content via OpenAI is subject to OpenAI's usage policies.

6. Support & Updates

Pro license holders receive plugin updates and email support for the duration of their active subscription. Support is provided on a best-effort basis. We aim to respond within 48 hours on business days. Free users can access community support through the WordPress.org support forum.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the plugin will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every WordPress configuration, theme, or plugin.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or revenue, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Pro plugin in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

Upon termination, your Pro license is deactivated and you will no longer receive updates or support. Your existing quizzes will continue to function but without Pro features.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts in the operator's jurisdiction.
